When you come at St Mark's School Hall, 13 Dufferin Street for your first night, you'll be met by a smiling member of our crew who will take your details and answer any questions you've got.
Class starts every Wednesday and Thursday with a warm-up at 7pm, so we recommend coming along 10-15min early so you're ready when we begin. There's plenty of parking available behind the hall.
You don't need any special equipment to do Modern Jive, you don't even need to bring a partner, but we recommend active wear and covered shoes.
We have water available in the hall, so make sure you bring a drink bottle. Some dancers also choose to bring a towel with them, particularly if they tend to get a bit sweaty. We have mints and deodorant available on the front desk.
At the start of class, we'll ask if you'd like to lead or follow this evening – anybody can do any role, they're not tied to gender, but we ask that you stick to your chosen role for the whole night while you're learning. Dancers will pair up with one lead and one follow, but we'll rotate one of the roles regularly throughout class so you get a chance to dance with a wide range of people.

If you have any questions throughout the night, you can ask anybody wearing a black and blue crew shirt, your teacher, or the friendly face on front desk.
If you have any questions outside of class – contact us!
