Simply Weekend returns for 2026! We have a huge weekend in store for you, including more workshops and social dancing than ever and a brand new mega-party on Sunday evening at Foxglove on the beautiful Wellington waterfront.
We've made a few changes to Simply this year. We have a total of 12 workshops available throughout the weekend - 6 open workshops and 6 advanced level workshops. We've also packed even more social dancing into the schedule so you're less likely to finish the weekend thinking "dang, I didn't get a chance to dance with that amazing dancer".
Simply no longer includes a competition, and the Te Papa Ball has been replaced with a bash at Foxglove instead (which is gonna be frickin' fantastic). These changes mean that we've been able to make our weekend packages more affordable.
Registrations open now! We’re stoked to be back at the beautiful Alan Gibbs Centre at Wellington College for this year’s Simply Weekend. Wellington College is located just next to the Basin Reserve in Wellington City, and next door to St Mark’s School (where we normally hold classes).
We’re capping off the weekend with an extravagant Waterfront Wonderland party on Sunday evening at Foxglove on the magnificent Wellington Waterfront.

Doors open at 7pm, and music will play through until late. This is a great chance to meet new people from all over Aotearoa, catch up with old friends, and do HEAPS of dancing.
Simply this year has more workshops than ever! Taught by our incredible Simply Masters (and special guests), we'll have four open workshops and four advanced level workshops on Saturday. Our workshop schedule will be released in the coming months, stay tuned.
We're introducing panels this year at Simply. These panels will be a chance to hear from key people in the Modern Jive scene from across Aotearoa and Australia, with a chance for the audience to ask questions. More details coming soon!
The Simply Cabaret is back! We'll kick off with performances from communities across the motu, followed by an awesome and likely chaotic show from our Simply Masters of 2026. After performances, we'll kick into our Saturday party so you can try out all the cool moves you've just witnessed.
Performances at Simply are not judged. If you have a team routine or a showcase you'd like to try in a fun and very supportive atmosphere, this is a great opportunity. Let us know when you register and we'll be in touch.

We'll whisk you away into Wonderland for the evening, complete with awesome food and social spaces to unwind and wrap up a massive weekend.
